The Inn

Located on 200 acres of picturesque farmland, the Auberge is situated along Route 139 in the village of West Brome, under 10 kilometers from Cowansville and Sutton, and just over an hour's drive from Montréal. Surrounded by the characteristic rolling hills of the Eastern Townships of Québec, the Auberge is also close to Lac Brome (Knowlton), numerous golf courses, vineyards and the Wine Route, shopping, and of course skiing and other winter sports.

Our History

The origins of our Auberge date back to the time of the pioneers in the Eastern Townships, over 200 years ago. In 1798, Isaiah Sweet, a loyalist emigrating from New York State, built the original brick farmhouse. Later, in 1898, a new owner had the barn built with wood all the way from Mégantic, without any nails - a unique feature. The dairy farm, with its 360 acres, was very prosperous for much of its century-long history. Its many sugaring parties, family gatherings, weddings and holiday festivities were a joy for all - a foretaste of what the Auberge would one day become!

We are very proud to have such a rich and interesting history.

Auberge West Brome proceeds with regular and rigurous testing of the quality of its drinking water to ensure that the water we drink is of the utmost quality. This process has allowed us to abolish the distribution of disposable plastic water bottles to our clients.  Due to this initiative we are sparing the use of more than an estimated 12 000 bottles yearly.

Rekindle Your Flame!

Wood heating is in fact a major source of air pollutants as much inside as outside. One of our commitments in becoming more eco-responsible is the elimination of logs being burned in our fireplaces. For this reason, we are now using electri logs.
